The Great Wall Review

The Great Wall is a China-US collaboration film based on one of China's legends (myth). The film depicts on William Garin (Matt Damon) and Pero Tovar (Pedro Pascal) as they wander through the Great Wall and fight alongside the warriors defending the city from "Tao Tie", monsters

since their ancestors time. To me, those monsters look like some kind of dinosaur species. The monsters are controlled by their queen as they receive orders from her.

William is good battles, he's an accurate archer. Tovar is good in sword fight. He assisted William in battles against Tao Tie as they helped the Chinese warriors defending their place. The heroin, Commander Lin, she is skilled in spearing the monsters. The plot moves along as the monsters evolving, getting more intelligent and finally able to break through the great wall as they enter the city to find food (humans) to be given to their queen. The monster's queen needs food to breed. As the monsters advance, many were killed and some sacrificed for others. With the help of William's great combat skill and black powder, they succeeded in defeating the queen. When the queen dies, all the other troops die along.

The warriors are also interesting. Their armors are what you can basically see from game ads whereas their armors are colorful. Each color has their own stand point. This is fascinating as it shows how great China is, in their war strategies. Some sacrifice themselves so others are able to lead in victory. Those scenes were also touching.

Pesonally, I would say the film is not so bad because of it's interesting plot. It is not the best nor the worst. I would rate it 5/10.
