My Experience with The Xperia Z5 Premium Dual

I've been using the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium for a few months and here is what I can say about it. First of all, the phone itself when it is first released, it costs MYR3,099.

The name “Premium" already indicates that it is different than any other Xperias, it is PREMIUM. Here's the catch, the display is known as the first to be using 4K resolution.
It is a feature which certainly does a great job in enhancing our viewing experience. It is also the main factor in its costly price.

Next, the camera. One of the boastful feature of the Z5 Premium is its 0.03 seconds in focusing during photography session alongside with its 23MP G-Lens camera. It is undeniable fast. I've tried capturing pictures of athletes sporting, of course, under suitable lighting, the image came out nicely. There's no blurriness in the image, it's sharp and clear. Well, that's under perfect lighting. When the images are captured under bad lighting, it won't come out nicely, probably there's blurriness in the action. On the other hand, its front camera is only 5MP. To be honest, compared to the Xperia M5 that I've used before, this 5MP camera that the Z5 Premium has, sucks. The image is bad under low-light and it's not very sharp. Well of course, it's just 5MP but I don't think it's appropriate for a so called “PREMIUM" smartphone to have such a low-spec camera on it.

The Z5 Premium is also equipped with fingerprint scanner. It is placed on the right side of the body and it is also combined with the power button which makes it 2 in 1. As for its placing, I think it's certainly strategic. Reasons are that it's just a perfect spot for your thumb to reach and it only works when it is pressed. Unlike some other smartphones, the fingerprint scanner and the power button are separated and the fingerprint scanner works all time even when the device sleep, which also means that it may be in contact with anything unintentionally which is very annoying when it vibrates trying to unlock.

Performance wise, multi-tasking has no problems. The phone can do multi-tasking smoothly. The 3GB RAM is also a great aid in enhancing this device's performance experience. As many applications run, the phone may get hotter depending on what kind of apps running. Battery as large as 3,430mAh makes the phone lasts for quite some time with some other features run alongside. With STAMINA mode on, the battery life may extend for a few more hours. It is very useful during a long-day usage.

Entertainment wise, I truly enjoyed using the Z5 Premium while watching movies or playing games. The speaker produces high quality sound as the placement of it is truly magnificent. It is placed at the left side and right side each if it is horizontal. The reason for me to be able to enjoy it is because the speaker will not be able to be covered by my palms. The display is also a great help in enhancing the entertainment experience.

The SIM and the MicroSD slots are placed at the upper left side of the phone. The slots are covered properly as the device is water-resistance. Beside the SIM slot, there is a Liquid Damage Indicator which will turns red when it makes contact with liquid.
